We usually allow 60-90 minutes for set up and soundcheck, depending on room access and load-in.

We create a unique set list for every event we play based on your preferences. You can browse our repertoire and tell us the artists you love, as well as the songs you’re not so keen on. We will always honour a veto list, so make sure you let us know the music you don’t want to hear. We’ll combine our experience with your musical preferences to put together a setlist that’s guaranteed to keep the dance floor packed all night long.
We pride ourselves on being able to read a crowd. If certain songs are going down well, we can adjust the setlist on the night and keep the party pumping!
Furthermore, we’ll learn your first dance as standard provided it’s both suitable for the band (most are) and subject to 14 days notice.
If you have any songs you’d love to hear that don’t fit into the set, we can always add them to the free DJ service to satisfy your dancing shoes!
-
At Pop The Top we’re entirely self-contained. We bring a pro-level audio setup, as well as our crowning jewels – a full, tour-grade light show. If you have more than 250 people attending your event, please let us know as we’ll have to expand our PA to ensure everyone’s able to rock out and amend your quote accordingly.
-
Our standard attire is smart casual, but we’re more than happy to accommodate whatever the dress code is for your event.

We love a good jam, but we do have a few ground rules for people who wish to come into the band area and play with us. It’s just common sense stuff that has evolved over the last few years. As long as you are happy to agree to these, we’re good to go!
All performances, members joining the band and song choices must be agreed upon in advance. We cannot allow people to enter the band area otherwise.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, the version of the song and the key will be the radio edit or the version with the most hits on Spotify. No need to rehearse with the band, just learn the track!
Due to Health & Safety reasons and our insurance policy, members joining the band must take full responsibility for themselves and all equipment while they are on the stage and during setup/changeover.
We do not allow drinks other than bottled water on the stage and unfortunately cannot allow those under the influence of alcohol to perform. So please make sure you save the beers for after you’ve played!
-
You get 2 hours of live music as part of your standard booking, split up into two or more sets. Most events are 2×60 mins or 3×40 mins, but it is totally up to you!
We also offer extra 30, 45 or 60 minute sets as an optional add-ons as well as acoustic options so please let us know if you’re interested in this.
-
We love playing in this band and will always endeavour to keep the band members the same as what you see here. If for some reason one of us can’t make it, that member will be replaced with one of our highly skilled deputies and we will still honour the booking.
-
Not a problem! While sound limiters aren’t the ideal scenario for live music, we’ve got extensive experience working with them. We do ask that you let us know beforehand if your venue has got a limiter, so that we can plan ahead and bring suitable gear (such as an electric drum kit) for the night.
-
Of course! We love playing first dances and will learn and perform yours at no extra cost. Our only requests are that the song is suitable for the band to play and we are given at least 14 days notice.
-
We ask for a minimum of two standard 13A sockets. The only other requirement is that the power is a 230V UK supply. Generators are fine, provided that there is a designated circuit for the band that is not shared with other equipment such as cookers, fridges, or lights. The generator needs to have enough juice to supply us with at least 8 kW of power.
-
Of course! We’re more than happy to send them over to you and your venue coordinator in the run-up to your event.
-
Absolutely! Our DJ service is free as part of your booking. You can bring your own iPod/phone/mp3 player with a specific playlist, or leave it up to us! Either way, we’ll manage the playlist on the night.
-
Yes! When you book with us we’ll send over a contract with our booking T&Cs for you to e-sign. This covers both you and us so make sure to give the T&Cs a read before signing and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!
